Chicken Tikka Masala


Ingredients
Chicken
Spices
1 tablespoon minced ginger
1 teaspoon ground coriander
1 teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon cumin
½ teaspoon chilli powder
½ teaspoon garam masala
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Chicken
2 lbs chicken breasts or thighs, chopped into bite-sized chunks
120 ml (1/2 cup) Greek yogurt
2 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
juice of half a lemon
2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for brushing onto the chicken before grilling)

Masala Sauce
Spices

½ teaspoon salt (or 1 teaspoon?)
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon cinnamon

Sauce
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
½ small onion, finely chopped
3 cloves of garlic, minced
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 red or green bell pepper, sliced
400 g (14 oz) canned chopped tomatoes
120 ml (1/2 cup) water
180 ml (3/4 cup) heavy cream
3 tablespoons ground almonds
1 tablespoon brown sugar
