Auntie Kitty's Shreded Beef Tacos






















Ingredients

Meat
1-1/2 lb flat iron
Garlic powder
Onion powder
Salt
Pepper
Oregano

Sauce
1 tablespoon olive oil
amount? tomatoes, chopped
1/2 onion, finely chopped
2 Serrano chiles, chopped
1 container Del Fuerte seasoned tomato sauce
Knorr chicken powder

To Serve
Tortillas
Lime wedges
Avocado slices, optional
Sour cream, optional
Fresh cilantro, chopped, optional


Directions

1. Pressure Cook the Beef
Pat the flat iron steak dry. Crisp the flat iron steak well on both sides. 
Add 1½ cups of water and the with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and oregano. Lock lid and bring to high pressure. Cook for 40 minutes. Let pressure naturally release for 10–15 minutes, then vent.

2. Make the Sauce
In a skillet add olive oil and onions and cook until translucent. Add the tomatoes and serrano chiles. Simmer until the tomatoes are cooked and the chiles are tender. Add the Del Fuerte tomato sauce and a small amount of Knorr chicken powder (start light).Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

4. Shred the Beef
Remove the beef from the pot and shred using two forks. Add the shredded meat to the sauce. 
Simmer uncovered for another 5 to 10 minutes so the meat absorbs the sauce and thickens slightly.

5. Serve
Warm the tortillas. Fill with shredded beef. Serve hot with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the tacos.
